I had an amazing time capturing this family simply just spending some quality family time together doing some of their favorite activities-baking, art and snuggling! It's the little moments in life that are so important to document!!
I have been photographing this family for a few years now, and they never fail to bring it! They are close friends of mine, and this photoshoot was bittersweet because it was a few days before they moved back home to Nebraska. {insert cry emoji}.... to say they will be missed by many Alaskans is an understatement! We did make the most of the beautiful Alaskan spring sunshine and had fun exploring and capturing some beautiful candid moments for them to treasure of the Last Frontier!
This month's video was not easy, due to how we had to film-either with a Lensbaby lens or by freelensing, both of which are complex ways of shooting. I chose to use my Lensbaby Twist 60 lens! The girls and I went down to a local creek with friends and we splashed around and played on a beautiful summer day... it doesn't get much better than that!
Check out the amazingly talented, Anita Perminova's video for this month's blog circle.
We had fun adventuring at one of our local parks today, playing in the forest and finding lots of treasures! I ended up with quite the collection of weeds! :)
What do you do when it is 55 degrees in Alaska? Bust out the swimsuits and sprinkler of course!! Once the sprinklers are out, to me, that means the official kick off of summer! Yes, you heard that right-summer not spring! :) The girls had a blast playing in the sun and we look forward to many more sprinkler days this year!
Baby Joey was the sweetest little guy, along with his adoring big brothers. I had so much fun capturing this awesome family loving on the new addition to their family, you can tell he is going to be one adored little brother!
The Turner Family was so fun to document. Lifestyle sessions seriously have my heart, they are so much more relaxing and slow paced. To be a fly on the wall and capture everyday moments of families that they will cherish for a lifetime is priceless. What a gift it will be for the family to look back upon these moments that may seem mundane at the moment, but mean so much even a few months from now as our families change SO much everyday.
This is a video fusion slideshow. I am offering these to clients as an add on purchase this year! Video, even if they are small clips add so much more emotion to a slideshow!
My April video was to document a day in the life of and I chose to document a lazy Sunday at the our household! I know I will appreciate these days when it was just the four of us in a a couple months when baby boy arrives, but it'll be so much fun to see how the dynamic changes as well!!!

Why a motherhood session and who are these good for?
Any mama and her child (children) and/or expectant mama’s. These are not family sessions. It is important that we (mother’s) get in front of the camera with our children, these images are as much for you as they are your children. There is nothing quite like the love of a mother, and it’s one of my favorite connections to document!

When & Where?
Your location of choice- in your home or outdoors (I have lots of location ideas)
These are not mini sessions, so I have a limited amount that I will do each weeknight/end.

And so the adventure begins!!
These two were the most adorable couple ever, seriously. They were grinning from ear to ear the entire day and love just radiated from them. I know everybody says that about the bride and groom, but they really did!
I am always re-inspired and renewed by photographing weddings, it's a beautiful thing being able to capture love. Pure love.
It's been a long and COLD winter. We are all over it, and ready for some warmth, sunshine and summer shenanigans. We finally got outside yesterday and were relatively comfortable and not freezing, it was glorious! We blew bubbles, ran around barefoot and did some sidewalk chalk. Needless to say, we are ready for summer!
This month for our project, we were supposed to do a video portrait of somebody. I chose my oldest daughter, Emma. She is definitely not an enthusiast of having her picture taken at the moment, which is why I wanted to do her...I figured it would be a challenge. :) I also wanted to focus on her because our family is getting ready to welcome our son and last child in June, so I feeling a bit nostalgic about my first born, and how fast she is growing up. I feel like we just welcomed her into the world not so long ago.
I wanted to focus on asking her some questions about things she is currently interested in, and well, as you will see-the awkwardness set in. Which initially annoyed me, but then I realized this is who she is at the moment and I should capture this awkwardness.
This is part of my blog circle, check out this beautiful video by the talented Fiona Yates !
My February video of me getting in the frame was actually more fun than I thought it would be! The girls and I made valentines cookies and we decided to just make a huge mess and have fun (as you can see)!

I am looking for a young family or a young family with a newborn in May or April 2017
What is a lifestyle Session? A in-home lifestyle session is done in the client's home. Everyone in the family should treat it as a regular session and look put together. You don't have to get all dolled up, but still try and look presentable and color coordinate some of your outfits. It is more documentary in terms of me just wanting you to be you in your home, we will have fun and find activities to do-but I will mainly be following you around your home photographing this time in your life. We will take the occasional "posed" picture, but overall I just want everyone to have fun. :)
Who am I looking for? I am looking for a young family or a family with a newborn-a newborn should be no more than one month old at the shoot date.
This is a portfolio building session for me, so the photo shoot is free, along with all the digitals from the shoot. You will have the option to purchase a beautiful 8x8 album from Millers Lab for $100 designed by me if you wish.
You will have to sign a release because this session as mentioned will be used for my portfolio and marketing purposes.
If you feel like your family will be a good fit, please contact me @tashaboinphotography@gmail.com. I will ask for you to send me a snapshot of your family, so I can narrow down my decision.
THANK YOU ALL, I am excited!! It is so important to document the real life moments of our everyday!
"I constantly go back and forth between wanting you to be my baby forever and and being excited about all of the amazing things you will do in this life"
I am lucky enough to be part of an amazingly talented group of women from all over the world called 24 Frames. Our goals are to learn, create and push each other to take videos of our families throughout the year. This month's them was slow motion.
Head on over to the very talented, Amber Walder Photography's page to watch her video!
It was a COLD December, and I am so thankful and grateful to all of my hearty families that braved the frigid temperatures and came out to get their family pictures taken with me! I will just say that Alaskan kiddos are TOUGH!
Â
Amanda and Jed were beyond adorable. This was their engagement session and even though it was COLD, COLD, COLD and did I mention it was cold?! :) ...it didn't put a damper on the love these two showed in the hour+ we tromped around the woods. I had so much fun being able to capture the love between these two!

This family was seriously the cutest! It was not warm out, and they all did amazing...but I was especially impressed with these two adorable little girls who did not complain once!! The parents wanted to capture some pictures of the family in Alaska, with some Alaskan mountain scenery and snow since they are moving out of the state. I think we succeeded in doing that!
