Welcome to the World, Benjamin!
We ventured up into the mountains to capture some sweet moments with this Extended Family Session.
This family was so sweet and calm for having a three kids, including a newborn! That is one of the reasons I absolutely LOVE in home sessions, they are so much slower paced and everyone seems to be more natural and comfortable since they are in their own home and environment! If you are the on the fence about doing a session in your home because you don’t think your house if picture perfect enough, don’t be! I promise you all you will see when you are looking back at your pictures is the love and connection you have within your family!
I adore Shawna! I’ve known her since I was a kid and she is he sweetest person, not to mention a kick-ass athlete! She wanted to get a few pics of her with her doggies, who were hilarious frolicking in the snow!
P.S. I love it when people bring their dogs to their sessions! :)
Joan & Lloyd wanted to capture the amazing family that they created on their gorgeous Alaskan property. I have lived in Anchorage a long time and it’s rare to have a home that is on a beautiful creek with a meadow and a totem pole to boot! My goal was to capture their family and their love of Alaska, the outdoors, and fun family togetherness- I think I managed that, they were such a fun family!
You wouldn’t have known that it was an absolute ICE RINK outside during this session and we were slipping and sliding all over the place, but where there is a will there is a way and this family was determined to get a quick session in! We made it work and found some beautiful scenery in the process!
In Home Newborn Lifestyle Sessions are the best, I absolutely love the slower pace of them. There is something just so calming and serene about being in the presence of a tiny little newborn and their loving family. Even if you don’t think your house is “photo worthy”, that is the last thing that matters to me and hopefully will to you, my main goal is to capture the connection and love between you, your new bundle and your family.
I had the honor of photographing my stunning cousin, Amanda’s elopement at Pt. Waranzoff this past fall. There is something just so sacred and special about elopements- no bells or whistles, just the bride and groom and the people that mean the most to them! I absolutely loved being able to capture part of their love story, many congrats again to these two!

I have photographed The Swenor’s a few times now and I absolutely love their playful energy! We went over to Lake Hood and took some fun lifestyle portraits next to their plane, complete with aviators and all! :)
Tyler is in the process of getting his pilot’s license, so naturally we had to go get some pictures with his plane, and his rascally pup had to make a cameo for a few portraits as well! :)
I love it when seniors bring meaningful things along with them to their shoots- Nicholas brought his trusty pup to his session and I loved how much it relaxed him! He also brought along his hockey gear, which was fun to capture him in- he ended up getting the honor of getting ASAA High School Hockey Player of the Year! Congrats!
“It’s kind of rebellious to be yourself”
The Lafferty Family is always so fun to capture with their playful personalities and love for each other…not to mention their girlies are always dressed so stinking cute!!
If you are a mama who has kids, no matter what age…newborn to pre teen to adult- when was the last time you were in the frame with them?! I know I can’t answer that, which is sad!! It’s easy to make excuses to not get your portraits done, but here is my reminder to you! Time is a thief and our kids grow and change WAY too stinking fast. It is a gift to them to see themselves in pictures with their parents! Don’t let these moments slip by!
This is Christina and Jude, Christina is a fellow photog and is super talented herself. Check her out at: Nonchalant View Photography! Isn’t her youngest, Jude seriously one of the cutest little cherubs you ever did see?! I absolutely adored just being able to wander around the studio with them and capture their love and connection!!
This family was so sweet and how adorable is this little guy?! He was definitely styling and just loved snuggling his adoring parents! I am a sucker for nature + family portraiture, and is what I photograph 95% of the time, but every now and then it is fun to mix it up and do a little studio portraiture as well…. especially in these cold, winter months!
If you want to get your families portraits done now or within the next few months and don’t want to wait for the snow to melt or summer to come (which lets face it, is a ways away), doing lifestyle portraits inside your home or at a studio are always a fun and beautiful option!
I had the pleasure of being able document this video profile for this lovely couple who is currently going through their adoption journey! They are so fun-loving, kind and caring and I know they will be amazing parents to whomever is lucky enough to be adopted by them! If you know of anyone who you think may be able to help them, please feel free to share!
