I met the Wood Family at Reflections Lake on probably one of the nicest and hottest days of the summer, I am talking 80 degrees - Alaskan heatwave!

Photographing families like these are what makes my heart sing as a photographer... being able to capture these loving and fun-filled candid moments are what make my job so amazing!

Tasha Boin Photography, Anchorage, Alaska Photographer {24 frames: A filming project: One second clips, Free choice}

We skipped a month in this project, so getting back to videoing was so freeing for me! This month's project was free choice of anything we wanted to video of one second clips. I was lucky enough to be able to document my kids and their cousins loving life down on the beach in Ninilchik...something I had been wanting to do for some time now! I had my newborn strapped to me, so creativity was limited, but I am still happy with what I was able to capture!

There is so much talent in this group, go over and check out the super talented, Amber Walder and check out her beautiful video!

Tasha Boin Photography-Anchorage, Alaska Family Photographer {A fun way to display your pictures}

I have had a lot of people ask me where I got these square prints from on my wall, so I decided to blog about them!

I literally have about a zillion images on my computer of my kids and was getting sick of them just taking up hard drive space. I love seeing my family in print on my wall, but know how expensive that can get-and then when you throw in frames, canvases, albums, etc...it only adds to the expense.

I don't always want to frame every image I take, and was trying to think of a unique and cost effective way of displaying them. After doing a lot of research, I came across Artifact Uprising and their awesome square prints that I absolutely love AND they start at $14 for 25 prints, what is better than that?! They come in different sizes, are thick and have a matte finish-which look really good as a stand alone print. I prefer matte over glossy anyways, it just has more of a finished, refined look than glossy does in my opinion.

Here is one way to display the square prints, but there are a bunch of other ways you can display them as well. I always love turning to Pinterest for inspiration- type in 'display square prints' and bam! there you go! Inspiration for days!

I hope this helps in giving you ideas on how to get those images off of your computer and onto your walls in a fun and fresh way!

I have been photographing this family for a few years now, and they never fail to bring it! They are close friends of mine, and this photoshoot was bittersweet because it was a few days before they moved back home to Nebraska. {insert cry emoji}.... to say they will be missed by many Alaskans is an understatement! We did make the most of the beautiful Alaskan spring sunshine and had fun exploring and capturing some beautiful candid moments for them to treasure of the Last Frontier!

24 Frames: A Filming Project: Lensbaby or Freelensing {Tasha Boin Photography, Anchorage, Alaska Family Photographer}

This month's video was not easy, due to how we had to film-either with a Lensbaby lens or by freelensing, both of which are complex ways of shooting. I chose to use my Lensbaby Twist 60 lens! The girls and I went down to a local creek with friends and we splashed around and played on a beautiful summer day... it doesn't get much better than that!

The Turner Family {Anchorage, Alaska Lifestyle and Family Photographer}

The Turner Family was so fun to document. Lifestyle sessions seriously have my heart, they are so much more relaxing and slow paced. To be a fly on the wall and capture everyday moments of families that they will cherish for a lifetime is priceless. What a gift it will be for the family to look back upon these moments that may seem mundane at the moment, but mean so much even a few months from now as our families change SO much everyday.

This is a video fusion slideshow. I am offering these to clients as an add on purchase this year! Video, even if they are small clips add so much more emotion to a slideshow!

There is nothing quite like the love of a mother, and it’s one of my favorite connections to document!

Butt's Wedding {Anchorage, Alaska Photographer}

And so the adventure begins!!

These two were the most adorable couple ever, seriously. They were grinning from ear to ear the entire day and love just radiated from them. I know everybody says that about the bride and groom, but they really did!

 I am always re-inspired and renewed by photographing weddings, it's a beautiful thing being able to capture love. Pure love.

"welcome back spring, we have been waiting for you" {Tasha Boin Photography, Anchorage, Alaska Family Photographer}

It's been a long and COLD winter. We are all over it, and ready for some warmth, sunshine and summer shenanigans. We finally got outside yesterday and were relatively comfortable and not freezing, it was glorious! We blew bubbles, ran around barefoot and did some sidewalk chalk. Needless to say, we are ready for summer!

"24 Frames: A Filming Project: March-A Video Portrait" {Tasha Boin Photography, Anchorage, Alaska Family Photographer}

This month for our project, we were supposed to do a video portrait of somebody. I chose my oldest daughter, Emma. She is definitely not an enthusiast of having her picture taken at the moment, which is why I wanted to do her...I figured it would be a challenge. :) I also wanted to focus on her because our family is getting ready to welcome our son and last child in June, so I feeling a bit nostalgic about my first born, and how fast she is growing up. I feel like we just welcomed her into the world not so long ago.

I wanted to focus on asking her some questions about things she is currently interested in, and well, as you will see-the awkwardness set in. Which initially annoyed me, but then I realized this is who she is at the moment and I should capture this awkwardness.
